Terms of Service

Short version: CappyBud is free to use. CappyBud Pro is an optional subscription you can cancel anytime. Your logs are yours. Please don’t misuse the service.
Who we are
CappyBud (“we”, “us”) is made and run by Neil Patrick Villanueva. By using the CappyBud app, website or an account, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
The app
The CappyBud desktop app is free. It works without an account and keeps your logs on your computer. You’re responsible for backing up your own computer.
Accounts
- Accounts are optional and only needed for Pro features.
- Give a real email address you can access, and keep your password safe.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account anytime in the app (Settings → Profile).
CappyBud Pro
- Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance. It renews automatically until you cancel.
- Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which may add taxes depending on where you live. Their terms also apply to the purchase.
- Cancel anytime in the app (Settings → Plan & billing). Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for; after that you’re back on the free plan and keep your logs.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund policy.
- We may change Pro’s price or features. Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you before they do.
AI features and fair use
Pro includes AI features with a generous monthly allowance for personal use. To keep the service fair and affordable, usage limits apply, and automated or abusive use (for example scripts, reselling or overloading the service) isn’t allowed. AI output can be wrong; don’t rely on it for anything important without checking.
Your content
Your logs and labels belong to you. We only process what you send us to provide the features you use, as described in our Privacy policy.
Things not to do
- break the law, or use CappyBud to harm others
- try to access other people’s accounts or data, or our systems beyond normal use
- overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the service
- share or resell your account
We may suspend or close accounts that do these things.
No warranty
CappyBud is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and, for big changes, tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of [country / state].
